Janet De Neefe is an Australian who married a Balinese and has lived in Bali for over twenty five years. During this time she has raised four children across two cultures, established a thriving business empire that includes two restaurants, a bar, a homewares emporium, a guesthouse, a bakery and a cooking school.
Amongst all this Janet managed to write two books (“Fragrant Rice” and “Bali: The Food of My Island Home”) and to found the now world renowned “Ubud Writers and Readers Festival” following the 2002 bombing.
De Neefe, brings to her classes a deeply personal knowledge of Balinese culture and cuisine, along with some very entertaining anecdotes about her own experiences. A range of classes are offered from beginners, to special Smoked Duck Classes and gourmet food tours that are all about the food and do not include classes.
