Outside the main Village drag along Ontario Street, Carte Blanche is a little neighborhood gem that offers an inventive French Á la carte and table d’hôte menu that changes every two weeks.
It’s cozy, comfy, colorful and consistent. While he only speaks French, hardworking chef/owner André Loiseau’s affable smile transcends any language.
On the menu:
Starters: Half-dozen Prince Edward Island oysters with shallots and vinegar (always fresh)
Main: Slow-cooked wild boar shank with grain mustard and maple sauce
METRO: Berri/UQAM and a short walk
