If you have never contemplated a salsa and wine pairing, owner, chef and winemaker Chuck Cardamon serves up his homemade recipes at Cardamon Family Vineyards.
Cardamon Family is fairly new. They have been producing wine only since 2012. With just 500 vines on the property, most of the fruit is sourced, but they are all Virginia wines.
At the tasting bar, the wines receive a fairly unconventional pairing. Chuck Cardamon trained as a chef prior to opening his winery and he happens to specialize in salsa. Salsa is not all he does, but it is his superpower. He expertly pairs these creations with his wines.
The front porch offers seating and unobstructed views of the Blue Ridge Mountains. It is a lovely spot to linger with some salsa and a glass of wine.
The winery is family friendly.
The tasting room is small and the parking area seems too small for large groups.
Several other award-winning wineries are nearby. These include Breaux Vineyards, Two Twisted Posts and Maggie Malick.
