Geared for pre-schoolers and early elementary ages, the Cape Cod Children’s Museum in Mashpee is more of a play-and-explore space than a museum.
Gleefully messy art programs, story times, and an imaginative array of hands-on exhibits make it fun to interact with your small charges. There’s a dress-up trunk and climbable mast in the 30-foot pirate ship, a puppet theater, a pretend kitchen decked out with dishes and pretend food to serve in a pretend restaurant, a music room, an interactive submarine, and other areas where nimble fingers and the delightfully unpredictable mind of a child are safe here on the loose.
