Located on the picturesque John Mosby Highway, Cana Vineyards is a popular venue that offers wine, live music and other public events.
Cana works hard to be many things to many constituencies and succeeds on all fronts. Visiting as a couple? With a group of friends? Need a place for the kids to run? Don’t want to leave the doggie home alone? Wedding venue? Check, check, check and check.
Downstairs, hang-out options include huge, shaded patios, vast lawns, and four primo Adirondacks planted front and center next to the vineyards. Enjoy views of the distant Bull Run Mountains from many vantage points. Upstairs there are private TV-viewing rooms (for game days) and covered balconies are adults-only.
Live music is planned from 1 – 5 every Saturday and Sunday. On Friday Cana is the place to be for end-of-week happy hours with the winery staying open until 9PM. Light food options are available. Crowds flock to Cana. The vast size of the place keeps you from feeling crowded.
Tastings are purchased inside and then carried out at the appointed time at one of several tasting bars. The offering changes regularly.
The small, five-acre vineyard is planted with Viognier, Petit Manseng, Petit Verdot, Cab Franc and Merlot.
Picnics are permitted.
Groups are welcome before 2:00 on weekends with advance reservations. Depending on size, they will be seated in the barrel room or a second floor room with a mountain view. Group tours are currently free. Call for more information.
There is parking for RVs and buses.
Weddings and private parties are welcome.
