Janelle and Kendall Pierson’s labor of love now occupies two houses on a prime corner facing Redding’s riverfront. Favored by visiting musicians, the Puente house offers larger, newer rooms, decked out in carefully sourced antiques — think dark wooden poster beds, iron curtain rods, and cozy sitting areas. The lighter Bridgehouse rooms, a couple of which offer river views, feature Martha Stewart decor–think grouped framed photos, tint tables topped with books. Soaking tubs and free Wifi make you want to stay awhile.
Janelle’s partnership with Vintage Wine Bar and Restaurant allows traveling musicians to bed for the night. Check out the walls of signed photos framed along the walls.
Breakfast changes with Janelle’s whim, but expect tried and true favorites like eggs and bacon, fruit topped pancakes, and Janelle’s famed scones. Coffee, tea, water, and afternoon sweets are included in the rate.
The gated patio makes a great place for dogs and their owners to laze in the sun.
