Everywhere you go in Branson you’ll see signs for a “tourist office.” While they’re useful for getting brochures and picking up booklets with discounts to shows and attractions, they are there for one single purpose–to sell you tickets to shows and attractions. While there are discounts to be had, I suggest you check attraction and show websites first to make sure you are getting a deal.
The only official tourist office is the Branson/Lakes Area Convention & Visitors Bureau, which maintains a Welcome Center just off highways 65 and 248 as you enter Branson from the north. It has a wealth of brochures, a magazine-size Branson Vacation Guide (which you can also request be sent to you before your trip by calling 800-296-0463), maps, and coupon booklets for discounts to shows and attractions, along with a volunteer staff to answer questions, such as which color-coded roads are best to reach your destination.
Note, however, that staff for the phone number below for the Welcome Center are sometimes so busy they don’t pick up. From Monday to Friday 9-5 you can also call the main CVB office at 417-334-4084.
