If Branson Cafe could talk! A real regulars’ hangout, it’s been the place to go since 1910 for its down-home country cooking. All the dinner rolls, cookies and bakery items are made from scratch.
Start the day with biscuits and homemade gravy or a three-egg omelet. Lunch and dinner offers burgers, sandwiches and homes-tyle dinners like fresh fried pork tenderloin, grilled cod, the ubiquitous country fried steak and specialties, served with all the trimmings. It’s especially known for its Frito pie, with chili, cheddar cheese, salad mix, tomato, onions and pickle relish piled on top of corn chips. There’s also a kid’s menu.
But whatever you do, save room for one of its famous pies, which can range from black berry cobbler to meringue. Interestingly, to reach the bathroom you have to walk through the kitchen, giving you a chance to see how clean it is.
