Ok, so you’re thinking, “A trail made out of bourbon? Hmmm…” Sorry, but just like the Lollypop Forest and Gumdrop Mountain in Candyland, the trail doesn’t actually exist. But, if you take in too much bourbon, you might swear you see one. Bourbon is Kentucky’s drink. It was invented here, and all bourbon is produced in Kentucky. So even if you don’t imbibe personally, you might want to take a distillery tour or two, just to get a feel for it. And, if you do wish to partake, most of the distilleries give samples. Just south of Louisville, near Bardstown, you’ll find four distilleries: Jim Beam, Maker’s Mark, Historic Tom Moore and Heaven Hill. Over towards Frankfort, about an hour east of Louisville, you’ll find Four Roses, Wild Turkey, Woodford Reserve and Buffalo Trace.
