Since 1939, Bonatt’s Restaurant, a Harwich landmark, has inaugurated new followers who preach the gospel of the famous melt-a-way sweet bun — served on the house to each table. Even if sweet breakfast pastries don’t make you drool, Bonatt’s is still worth a trip for an excellent breakfast. The short-order kitchen specializes in blintzes, lobster Benedict and raspberry-stuffed french toast. And lucky for late risers, breakfast is served all day.
At lunchtime, go for the blackboard specials like fish-and-chips and open steak sandwiches. You can also purchase a box lunch for picnics.
