Winery owner Dave Matthews sand craftsman William Johnson designed this gorgeous rustic-modern winery. In case you are wondering, this is the Dave Matthews of Dave Matthews Band fame.
Inside, dozens of windows and skylights bringing in the piedmont view. The lighting, exposed ceiling joists and rafters lend the A-frame structure a slight cathedral feel. On the walls you will find artwork by local artists and possibly some by Mathews.
Join a tasting at one of the two bars, or take a seat and the tastes will be brought to you. Alternately, you can take your glass out onto the big, sunny deck and take in the Piedmont view.
Blenheim’s goal is to bottle wine from single vineyards and small parcels to capture the distinct characteristics of each site. They began this practice with their first vineyard in 2000, and extended with their second in 2007.
