An easy 10-minute walk from the Stowe Mountain Road, the scenic Bingham Falls makes for a great stop on a hot summer day – especially after hiking and exploring around Smuggler’s Notch. The 40-foot falls are set within the Mount Mansfield State Forest. There are various pools and gorges and walking trails for exploring the area.
At the end of the path from the road a set of stone stairs descends to the falls themselves, a picturesque cascade into a nice swimming hole. There are several boulders around the pool that swimmers can jump off.
At the time of writing there was no signage from the Mountain Road to indicate where parking is, although there is a wide pull-off area on the left side of the road as you’re heading from Stowe towards Smugglers notch. The property can also be accessed via the Mill Trail off Notchbrook Road. The falls can get very crowded on nice summer days, especially on the weekends, so visitors might want to go early or later in the afternoon to avoid peak crowds.
