Billy Gail’s Cafe doesn’t advertise and it doesn’t need to. Breathing new life into a former gas station, this is a bustling, friendly cafe, popular with the locals and the kind of place where the waitresses call you “honey.” It’s located just a third of a mile south of Highway 76, not far from Silver Dollar City.
It’s famous for its pancakes, so large they literally cover your plate and then some, but it also serves four-egg omelets with hash browns, a breakfast burrito, stuffed French toast (sausage, egg and cheese sandwiches between grilled Texas Toast), and the aptly named Billy’s Belly Buster Breakfast which comes with three eggs, pancakes, hash browns, toast and choice of bacon, sausage patties or ham.
Offered from 11am, lunch includes sandwiches, burgers, fish and chips, salads and soups. As you wait for your order, you might want to look over shelves laden with knicknacks and other second-hand items, all for sale. Note that no credit cards are accepted at Billy Gail’s.
