A number of organizations have come together in recent years to elevate St. Louis’ status as a cycling community.

As a result, the city has more than 135 miles of off-street biking trails and about 80 miles of on-street designated bike lanes, with many more in the planning.

Trails cross over the river into Illinois and back, connect to state parks and pass through historic sites. Local artists have created intriguing bike racks around the city and contributed to the aesthetics of many trails.

Visitors from out-of-town may enjoy the Bike-with-a-Ranger program, a six mile ride around the Arch and along the riverfront every Saturday morning at 9AM. Call 877-982-1410 for reservations.

There are organized events like the Moonlight Ramble and rides along Route 66, and clubs and projects to get involved with to make the St. Louis region even more active in the outdoors.
