Beaver Creek dining can be a special experience or a quick meal. With so many restaurants in Beaver Creek, Avon and nearby Edwards, a foodie could easily write a book about them. The following are some that we’re tried and recommend you consider.

Lower Priced

The Avon Bakery and Deli (25 Hurd Lane, Avon (970) 949-3354) is down the road in Avon. It’s a locals favorite for breakfast and dinner. We love the breakfast burritos, fresh breads (organic flour), bagels and great sandwiches. You’ll find counter service with inside tables.

Coyote Cafe (970) 845-9030) is by the escalator in Beaver Creek Village, and has been around “forever”. Take the kids here for lunch.  Sandwiches, fish tacos, burritos, nachos and other dishes are all decent and reasonably priced. Service is great.  This is a place you should try if you enjoy the apres-ski bar scene. .

If you have a car try the Northside Coffee & Kitchen , which sits just off I-70’s Avon exit (exit 167), near the Shell station. (20 Nottingham Road (970) 949-1423 ). It’s  nothing fancy but they have the best coffee and donuts in Avon. We always stop there when we’re traveling on I-70 toward Grand Junction. The meals are good and well-priced for the region.

Moderate Priced

We have friends, who work at Beaver Creek, and we often join them for lunch or dinner at The Dusty Boot Steakhouse and Saloon. (970) 748-1146). “Saloon” describes it, but they have good Mexican food, ribs, pasta, BBQ, steaks, chicken fish and burgers. You’ll find lots of families eating here and an active night bar scene.

Downstairs from the Dusty Boot you’ll find The Metropolitan (970) 748-3123). It’s a coffee and breakfast bar that turns into a wine and tapas bar in the evenings. The food is good, but be sure to check out the Enomatic. It’s a self-serve wine machine (with a good wine selection) that pours the correct amount each time you pick a wine then insert a prepaid card.

High End

You can’t try all of the fine dining in Beaver Creek on a single trip. Here are two we like. They generally require reservations for dinner.

Mirabelle at Beaver Creek
(970) 949-7728) is located at the entrance to Beaver Creek. It’s been a long-time star in the Beaver Creek dining scene. We love the setting and the food. Particular favorites are Dover Sole and Rack of Lamb. Mirabelle’s also has a great wine cellar. You will have a delightful evening.

Splendido at the Chateau (970) 845-8808) is absolute fine dining. A great wine cellar and “to-die-for” deserts. Our favorites are the Buffalo Steak Diane and the Halibut Steak. Expect a leisurely, superb dinner and don’t be afraid to ask for advice pairing wines and food.

The Grouse Mountain Grill in the Pines Lodge (970-949-0600) is relaxed adult dining in a comfortable atmosphere. The menu is seasonal, but if the Braised Lamb Ravioli, Walleye or Duck are on the menu they come with our recommendations.
