Just past the Beach House Restaurant, this surf spot is called many names (Lawai Beach, Keiki, or Baby Beach). The rocky bottom makes this an uncomfortable swimming beach, but sunbathers and families love the sandy area (when the tide hasn’t swallowed the sand). Surfers populate the water during the summer swells.
Often food trucks park across the street hawking shave ice and post surf grinds.
Nearby Prince Kuhio Beach (Across from Prince Kuhio Park also on Lawai Road, and also dubbed PK’s Beach) is decent surf, snorkel and dive spot. However, you have to walk over a variety of sharp coral to enter the water.
