With the best beachside location in town, this much-awarded cafe/restaurant is the place to be. In the mornings, it’s café-casual – it’s perfectly fine to turn up in your shorts or running gear – but don’t let that or its beachy location fool you; this is fine dining at its very best.
With a name-change in 2016 (from Byron Beach Cafe), a few new touches were added to maximise the seaside al fresco experience; there are also picnic tables and outdoor bean bags for lounging near the takeaway coffee kiosk, adding to the relaxed vibe.
During the day, remember to bring your sunglasses for the glare off the Pacific Ocean as you gaze out at The Pass (Byron’s most famous point break) and Julian Rocks (a cluster of offshore islands).
Reservations are recommended for breakfast and lunch and essential for dinner, particularly if you hope to score a beachfront table (hot tip: dine early to improve your chances). It’s open from 7.30am daily and dinner service starts at 5.30pm.
