This is the show that started it all. Branson’s Famous Baldknobbers show was formed in 1959 by brothers Bill, Jim, Lyle and Bob Mabe, who began entertaining visitors on the Lake Taneycomo lakefront with a country-music and comedy show featuring local instruments like the banjo, washtub bass and Dobro guitar. Baldknobbers artifacts, including costumes and instruments, have even been accepted by the Smithsonian’s National Museum of American History.
Today, second- and third-generation Mabe family members continue the 58-year tradition with a high-energy, fast-paced show, providing good wholesome fun for the entire family. These people grew up entertaining, and they do it well.
