The Avalon’s hourglass-shaped pool dates from 1949, and is
the central piece in the property’s embrace of the patio lifestyle of 1950s
California. Service and amenities are cutting edge, so the hotel isn’t really
retro, although classic furnishings from designers like Isamu Noguchi and
Charles Eames set a cool scene.
The hotel’s Oliviero restaurant offers Italian
cuisine in a chic, al fresco Beverly Hills setting. Love the bamboo trees and
Italian columns.
