The Aulani, located within the Ko ‘Olina Resort, is the most popular stay-cation spot on the island. What’s more, the “Disney” aspect is understated enough and tastefully done to the point that the resort even attracts a fair number of solo travelers and couples without children.
With its sprawling beachfront property, over 350 rooms and nearly 500 villas, two spas (one for you and one for teens), multiple pools and water slides, restaurants, and shopping, you’ll never get bored. And there’s evening entertainment for everyone, including storytelling, hula, and live music.
Feel like planning a cultural excursion or a trip into Waikiki? Don’t worry, check in with the Excursion Desk. And if you and your significant other feel like having time to yourselves, there are countless organized activities—not to mention Disney characters—to keep your children busy as long as you need.
Notes: Aulani guests receive discounted rounds of golf at the Ko ‘Olina Golf Course. Also, if you plan to stay longer than a few days at the resort, keep in mind there are restaurants across the street, which can add some variety to your dining experience (they’re also cheaper). But if you like sushi, my favorite recommendation for restaurants in Ko ‘Olina is Sushi Yuzu.
