Replacing the popular Suan Lum Night Bazaar which closed down some years ago. Asiatique has a great location right alongside the Chao Phraya River, and while it isn’t centrally located, a free shuttle boat from the Saphan Taksin pier makes it easy to access, although if you come around dinnertime, the boat lines will be very long. Asiatique took over a port area full of old warehouses, and converted them into shops and restaurants, the result of which is a super popular place to enjoy good food, a range of souvenir and shopping opportunities, plus plenty more.
In addition to the dining and drinking opportunities, there is also a ferris wheel and other amusement rides here, as well as the Calypso transvestite cabaret, Thai boxing, and plenty of other entertainment. The night bazaar also hosts various festivals and events during Thai holidays, such as Chinese New Year, and it has become a very popular spot with tourists looking for a fun night out.
