Aphrodite’s consists of two locations – an organic cafe and a pie shop – at kitty corner to one another.
The first is the original shabby-cosy cafe adjoining the tiny bakery that pumps out plump-looking organic pies of every fruit imaginable. It’s a very popular hang-out for those-in-the-know. So popular, in fact, that this early pioneer of ‘organic’ blossomed into a second venue: a chic younger sister where organic fare, from breakfast thru’ dinner, rules.
Aphrodite’s ranks as one of the top brunch restaurants in the city, courtesy of The Georgia Straight’s Best of Vancouver awards where reader nominations tell the tale. The Smoked Salmon Benny with Lemony Hollandaise is delicious. Or you may prefer comforters like hearty homemade soups, turkey pot pie, or chicken and shitake quesadilla.
Most items are sourced from nearby organic farms and producers and for those with dietary issues, fear not: the menu boasts many gluten-free, vegetarian and vegan options.
