Established in 1840, Antoine’s is arguably the oldest restaurant in New Orleans. Antoine Alciatore traveled here from France after a brief stopover in New York. The restaurant he created has survived for almost two centuries and is now owned and operated by his family for five generations. It was there that Antoine’s son Jules invented Oysters Rockefeller. The recipe is a closely guarded secret though many chefs have tried to recreate it for themselves. Antoine’s has 14 separate dining rooms, each with its own charm. Come taste the French Creole cuisine that is known throughout the world.
