Through the majestic iron gates, you see the cour d’honneur of l’Hôtel de Caumont with its the elegant Baroque limestone facade. This grand entrance was unique even in the chic Quartier Mazarin in Aix en Provence. Hôtel de Caumont was constructed as a commission for M. Réauville, his initials “RR” are found throughout the property, and his family coat of arms is on the front of the building. The building was reopened in 2015, as the Caumont Centre d’Art after a 26.6 million Euro and 18-month restoration project under the direction l’Achitecte du Patrimonie.
Light dining on site is available at Le Café Caumont – open daily starting at 11:30 for light meals, large salads and tempting pastries. The lounge is open Tuesday to Saturdays from 19h-23h serving drinks and tapas style plates.
