Three stainless steel spires, the tallest at 270-feet, soar on a site that overlooks the Pentagon, the Potomac River, and the Washington, D.C., skyline.  Evoking a sense of flight and precision teamwork, the memorial  honors the service and sacrifices of the men and women of the United States Air Force. In the stone plaza beneath the spires is a five-pointed star. The memorial also features a sculpture of honor guards, a granite wall with names of the recipients of the Airmen Medal of Honor, as well as a glass wall  that pays homage to missing air personnel.

The Air Force Memorial was dedicated on October 14, 2006.
