Right in front of the Frauenkirche (Church of Our Lady), the Advent at Neumarkt beams you back 100 years. Tradition, charm and the romanticism of the location are unique, the faithfully recreated market booths offer only high-quality, handmade products – from aromatic soaps to chocolate specialities and glass art all the way to puppets and cheese.
Of course, we tried Glühwein (mulled wine ) but found other specialities as well: Eierpunsch (eggnog) and Feuerzangenbowle (mulled wine with a rum-soaked sugarloaf lit above it)
The market benefits from the location in front of the Frauenkirche: this special atmosphere is part of this unique place in Dresden. Ten fir trees are distributed across the square, all decorated with the famous stars of Herrnhut. By the way, the sheer number of firs does not make life easier for people who want to meet: “Under the pine tree” is a little ambiguous…
