The rural beauty of the property and reputation as a producer of premium wine make 8 Chains North Winery a must-visit Loudoun County winery.

About 8 Chains

The winery and tasting room at 8 Chains are housed in an renovated barn. The large space is broken into a variety of intimate seating areas defined by wood screens and tapestries. Outside, a brick patio provides a view of the neighboring lawns and small farms.

The winemaker and part-owner, Ben Renshaw, brings years of Virginia wine experience. The winery is best known for its Bordeaux-style blends, Merlot, and the popular LoCo Vino, which is a blend of Vidal Blanc and Traminette.

From Leesburg, take Route 7 West to VA9. Exit toward Hillsboro/Charlestown, go about 4 miles and then turn left on Daymont Lane.

Thanks to Nancy Bauer of Virginia Wine in My Pocket for writing the original draft.
