Mammoth Lakes is a wonderful destination for a romantic winter getaway. Whether the two of you bond over the adrenaline rush of skiing off a steep cornice together, or your idea of the perfect date is putting your feet up in front of a roaring fire, you’ll have a great time. Here’s a guide to a romantic day in winter wonderland:
Brew a pot of coffee in the comfort of your own private luxury log cabin at Tamarack Lodge, surrounded by the soft sounds of pine trees laden with fresh snow. Gear up and head to Mammoth Mountain Ski Area for a morning on the mountain, where you can ski, snowboard, or ride the scenic gondola to the summit as pedestrians.
Enjoy lunch at the 11,053-foot summit of Mammoth Mountain, where there is a café, 360-degree views, and the ultimate photo op with the signature Mammoth summit sign.
Stroll the Village at Mammoth before sitting down to a memorable meal and excellent wine at Skadi. After dinner, return to the Village fire pit for some stargazing. If you’re still feeling adventurous, join a moonlight snowshoe tour at Tamarack Lodge (offered select nights in winter). After the tour, snowshoe home to your cabin hand-in-hand.
