Old meets new in the Free State of Bavaria, southern Germany. This is where you’ll find the Romantic Road, the Castles Route, the German Alpine Road and cycling to taste beer at some of the 640 or so breweries! (Yes, you read that right!) Kulmbach is the unofficial beer capital, home of the Bavarian Brewery Museum and a good place to begin any beer tour. Bavaria is famous for its festivals including the Oktoberfest beer festival in trend-setting Munich, the capital, which delivers contemporary and traditional offerings with a cutting edge music and art scene.

Travel to see medieval abbeys, palaces, ornamental baroque churches, magnificent castles such as Neuschwanstein Castle and the UNESCO-listed sites and places including Wieskirche pilgrimage church, the Roman Limes, Würzburg, Bamberg and  Regensburg… To learn more about Bavaria, check out their website, and until we find a destination specialist (if that’s you, please contact us), we’ve sourced a great itinerary from Germany Travel.
