Ulrich van Stipriaan is a journalist who loves the beautiful things of life: traveling, eating, drinking (mostly wine). He has the good fortune to live in Dresden, visited by more than four million tourists annually. Ulrich came to Dresden just after the fall of the Wall and thus sees the city and its inhabitants with love and a certain distance. Ulrich has written food critiques for the German special interest magazine Der Feinschmecker and regional newspapers. He also writes wine columns. Ulrich loves exploring on long walks because you haven't really been somewhere unless you've been there on foot. Ulrich publishes his travel reports as well as food critics and wine adventures in his blog (in German).

What is the most important thing you've learned from traveling?

    The kindness of the people…

What's your favorite mode of transportation? Why?

The own feet. Because you slow down and you will have lots of opportunities to talk with the locals.

Do you prefer traveling alone or with a companion? Why?

Alone. With a friend. No groups. It is easier to spontaneously decide differently than planned.

    Return 😉
