What's your most exciting or surprising travel experience?

Dogsledding in Bayfield, Wisconsin was one of the most enjoyable travel experiences ever! I finally found a winter sport I adore…now, if only I can convince my husband that we have enough room in our Milwaukee home to house a team of sled dogs.

What's the most underrated destination in your opinion?

Milwaukee’s my adopted hometown so I’m pretty biased. I think it’s one of the most underrated cities in the country. We have great parks, an amazing lakefront and some of the best food and restaurants in the Midwest. Not to mention a thriving craft distillery and beer scene. We boast the largest music festival in the world, too.

What's your favorite mode of transportation? Why?

I love walking or biking. You get to experience people, culture and landscapes up close, and you see things you’d miss if you’re driving.

What is the most important thing you've learned from traveling?

You meet the most wonderful people traveling, and every person you meet has a story to tell. Ask questions, listen, and you’ll discover some unexpected delights.
