What is the most important thing you've learned from traveling?

How kind and generous people are about sharing information about restaurants, museums, shops they love and want me to experience. It’s part of why I always go out of my way to return the favor and help a tourist visiting my hometown, New York City.

Who would you choose as a seatmate on a cross-continential road trip?

Thomas Edison, for insights on his inventions that changed the world and his thoughts on the current technology and inventions that grew from his.

What's your favorite mode of transportation? Why?

Walking. NYC is a walking town, and there’s something to catch your eye with every step, whether it’s an interesting store window, architectural detail, or a best-dressed passerby. I also love to walk along mountain trails to soak up the views and smell the flowers. Depending where I walk and how heavy my backpack, it’s called hiking or trekking.

Have you ever been somewhere that was so bad you couldn't write about it?

Yes. And I can’t write about it here, either.
