Eric Lucas is a Seattle-based correspondent for Michelin Travel Guides, Alaska Airlines Magazine, Westways, Western Journey, Los Angeles Times and many other outlets. His work concentrates on the meaning of travel and human culture, with special emphasis on sustainability, social justice, peace and indigenous peoples. He is the retired Associate Editor at Alaska Airlines Magazine. Eric is the author of six Michelin guides, including Michelin Alaska, Michelin Hawai'i and Michelin British Columbia/Alberta Rockies. He is the coauthor of Michelin's Western Canada and Yellowstone National Park. Other books include Explorers Guide Victoria & Vancouver Island. His favorite dinner is sockeye salmon, his favorite country is Sweden, and he spends his time at home growing organic garlic, beans and corn.

    Upper deck A380, most comfortable plane in the sky. Second choice: Sleeper cabin overnight train, Vienna-Zurich.
