Donna is a storyteller and author who previously worked as managing editor of the Orange County Register in Southern California. She's also been the Register’s business editor, the Los Angeles Times’ national weekend editor, and managing editor at Entrepreneur Media, where she ran the startup, SecondAct.com. Donna got her start in travel writing while in college studying in London, then later left grad school to freelance her way across Europe. More recently she edited and co-published the best-selling My California, a narrative travel anthology featuring 27 of California’s top writers, and wrote two travel books, The Explorer’s Guide to Santa Barbara and California’s Central Coast and Great Escapes: Southern California. She co-authored (with Pulitzer Prize-winning photographer Rick Rickman) The Wonder Years: Portraits of Athletes Who Never Slow Down. Donna grew up in New York, graduated from the University of Florida, and now lives in Seal Beach, Calif., with her husband, two children and three rescued greyhounds.
